The installation, curated by Kamran V Cykik and Mark McNeill, features a four-speaker immersive sound playback with reactive visuals by Alex Pelly. Audio works include Suzanne Ciani’s comeback quadraphonic Buchla modular synth performance recording, Sun Ra’s cosmic classic “Space is the Place,” newly recovered quad tapes from Ed Michel’s Impulse! Records archive, exclusive spatialized mixes by Arp and Craig Leon, original compositions by $3.33 and Lucky Dragons and a fully enveloping field recording by dublab’s George Jensen.
Lucky Paul is setting up an interactive sampling space for musicians and non musicians. Come in, make sounds into a mic with percussion or your voice, play keyboards where no key will sound out of scale, and be sampled in realtime to an ongoing spontaneously created composition, or just jam over top of it and enjoy
